Parkinson's disease, sometimes called a tremor paralysis, is a degenerative disease of the nervous system. Most of the cases of this disease occur in people older than fifty years.
Currently, there are two types of Parkinson's disease:
- Idiopathic or primary parkinsonism is a hereditary disease;
- Drug, vascular or secondary parkinsonism develops in patients who abuse certain drugs. Also, some diseases and pathologies can cause it.
The most characteristic manifestations of Parkinson's disease are:
- "Lubrication" of speech;
- Handwriting change;
- Tremors trembling;
- Difficulty, awkwardness and slowness of movements.
The main cause of the onset of Parkinson's disease is considered to be a dysfunction of the hormone dopatomin, which is responsible for the transmission of impulses in the brain. Because of this, changes in the structure of the cells responsible for movement and other types of physical activity lead to a disruption in their functioning.
Secondary Parkinson's disease can be associated with the use of certain drugs, the abuse of certain medications, as well as encephalitis, vascular disease, etc.
Diagnosis designed to confirm or disprove the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, and to identify the specific case of the disease includes the following studies:
- Electroencephalogram;
- Computer and magnetic resonance imaging;
- Laboratory tests of blood samples of a patient;
- Dat Scanning PET CT.
However, the most important stage of diagnosis is long-term observation of the patient, which clarifies some of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and the constancy of trembling limbs.
It is quite natural that the treatment of Parkinson's disease in Israel will be administered depending on the condition of the patient and the stage of the disease development. So, for example, in the early stages, when the disease does not prevent the patient from living a full life, doctors can limit themselves only to supervision. In addition, when treating in Israel, Parkinson's disease is actively used physiotherapy, which allows you to mobilize the body's capabilities and help him fight the disease.
It should also be mentioned that currently there are active methods of treatment of Parkinson's disease with the help of stem cells. But, unfortunately, their effectiveness and safety for the patient is in question. In particular, some side effects were found that could adversely affect the patient's health.
