Medical clamps: types, purpose
Surgical clamps are medical instruments that are designed to clamp tissues, organs or objects during an operation.
How are they arranged?
Clamps usually have a lock that divides the two branches into a ring and work sponges. Near the rings among most such tools is a cremalier. It provides automatic adherence to tissues and organs. The most common are the criminals with fixation of a stepped nature. But they have a drawback, since they do not allow the dosage to be applied to increase the compression as accurately as possible. Currently, foreign suppliers are performing medical clamps with a continuously variable set of cremators, but such tools are very large in size and quite complicated in design.
Two types of clamps
Surgical clamps are divided into two types: curved and straight. The following categories of clamps are distinguished according to the method of influencing the tissues:
- Elastic. Their temporary imposition should in no case cause injury to organs. After all, in the postoperative period of time, the veils completely restore their vital functions.
- The next type is rigid medical clips. Their use can injure organs. Given this risk, they are usually used on disposable tissues during surgery.
Reliability requirements
The reliability of the clamps is very strict, as a malfunction of the instrument at the time of surgery can significantly complicate the work of the doctor and ultimately negatively affect the outcome of its outcome. This small surgical set is simply necessary during surgery.
Hemostatic clamps
Hemostatic clamps serve as temporary containment of bleeding due to compression of the vessel from which blood flows. Further, a ligation is applied to it until the final stop of the oozing liquid occurs.
The hemostatic clamps include four types of tools, such as:
- Clamp type "Mosquito".
- Device for deep cavities.
- Clamp equipped with the cutting of Billroth. Clamp notched straight Kocher.
These hemostatic items are made from stainless steel, which has the necessary strength and elasticity.
Clamps for short-term clamping of vessels
There are three types of clamps that are intended for short-term clamping of vessels:
- Tool for the kidney foot of Mayo.
- Elastic clip of Hepfner.
- Arterial devices of Negus, Wella and Potta.
For more gentle clamping of blood vessels terminals are used, which in their external appearance resemble pincers with crossed brashnami. They are also included in the small surgical set.
When stratification of tissues at the time of vascular isolation, as well as for their temporary transfusion, dissectors are used, in which in most cases, unlike the clips that stop blood, there is no cremalier and cutting on the working sponges.
Fixation clamps are often called medical forceps. The main thing is not to confuse them with sharp similar tools. The main requirement for them is the absence of traumatization of the tissues of organs at the time of seizure. Depending on the purpose, various types of clamps are produced. For example, hemorrhoidal forceps, instruments for capturing the lung or intestinal, which are used in the operations of the intestinal wall, etc. This also includes forceps designed to take the tools with which the doctor performs surgery.
Gastrointestinal clamps serve as overlapping of the lumen of the stomach and intestine, thus preventing the entry of contents into the wound. Such tools are divided into two types: elastic, which are suitable for the part to be left, and crushing, their other name is pulp. The latter species is capable of causing tissue damage, for this reason they are used for resection with respect to the part being removed. There are also gastrointestinal clamps, which are intermediate in the strength of their compression, otherwise they are also called rigid.
Needle holders are used to hold surgical needles, as well as carrying them through tissues during the application of sutures. By their design, the needle holders are identical to the clamps stopping blood, but they have a short working part, so for the clamping of the needle it is necessary to exert efforts, two or three more assiduous than using the hemostatic clamps. All this can be purchased at the "Medtekhnika" store.
Medical tweezers are tools that are designed to capture and short-term retention of materials, tissues and small tools during surgical operations and other manipulations.
Tweezers to mankind were familiar even in Ancient Egypt. It is noteworthy that among the collection of surgical instruments presented at the Leipzig Institute of Medical History, there are similar instruments of the V-VI centuries BC.
Tweezers is a device consisting of a pair of iron springs that are welded or fixed to each other. They can also be welded together at one end. From their edges go working branches, which are also called bransha. They diverge at a certain angle.
Types of tweezers
The outer sides of the brushes tweezers have fine corrugation, or they can be matted, and the working surface of the sponges is endowed with a transverse notch. Among the most common types of such tools are called:
- surgical;
- anatomical;
- tweezers with a lock for deep cavities;
- Russian toothed-palm;
- tool for applying, as well as removing metal staples.
The "Medtekhnika" store offers a wide range of surgical instruments.
Clamps for linen
To clamps for medical linen it is customary to include:
- tools intended for the purpose of fixing surgical sterile underwear in relation to the skin of a patient with a cremalier;
- clip Mikulich, which is applicable for fixing operating tissue to the peritoneum, with the help of which the working field turns out to be shielded from getting all kinds of infections;
- leaf hubs;
- leads - medical clips for the transfer of sterile instruments, as well as dressings for operations, they are also suitable for the introduction of drains and tampons.
We have examined such surgical instruments as clamps. There are a lot of them. They must be reliable, because the success of the operation largely depends on this.
