Probably, all girls who reach childbearing age, know that in their body every month there are certain hormonal changes. But now, unfortunately, few people know about the period of ovulation and what happens to the female organism at this moment. Although every woman should at least in general be aware of the work of her reproductive system.

The term ovulation refers to the moment when the follicle is ruptured and a mature egg emerges from it. So, the period of ovulation is one of the phases of a woman's menstrual cycle, which occurs 10-16 days before the next menstruation. In a healthy girl, it should be almost every month( in the norm, 1-2 anovulatory cycles per year are allowed), and it is at this point that the probability of conception of the baby is high. For this reason, it is important for every woman to follow her cycle. With the help of this knowledge, you can plan pregnancy, using additional methods of protection or, conversely, making maximum efforts for the onset of pregnancy on dangerous days.

There are several ways to determine the period of ovulation. The most reliable is the holding of an SPL every 2 days starting from the 7th day of the cycle. Only with the help of this diagnosis can you track the growth of follicles in the ovaries, the thickness of the endometrium, to assume the exact date of rupture of the follicle, based on data on the size, and to confirm the fact that the ovum has left.

In addition, the period of ovulation can be detected using special tests. If the amount of luteinizing hormone in the urine has reached the maximum level, then the strips on the test will be equal in brightness. This means that the egg should leave within the next 24 hours. But these tests are quite expensive, especially if you take into account the fact that sometimes you need to use 1-2 tests a day for several days to determine ovulation. Therefore, this method of diagnostics has not gained much popularity.

Many people use an old and proven method, such as basal temperature measurement, to determine when the ovulation period will come. The principle of it is based on the fact that every morning, without getting out of bed, you have to measure the body temperature( the most reliable results are obtained if the measurements are carried out in the rectum). But this method requires a certain self-organization: to obtain a visual picture and the possibility to assume a possible date for ovulation, it is necessary to carry out daily measurements for at least 3 months.

When planning pregnancy, you often have to measure the temperature until the onset of this long-awaited event. Each measurement result is best recorded in a special table and the temperature on the graph, where the vertical axis is located temperature values, and on the horizontal - the days of the month.

If in the first half of the cycle the temperature should ideally be kept at the level of 36 - 36.40, then after rupture of the follicle it rises sharply to 370 degrees and higher, and the graph shows an obvious jump. That day, in which the lowest temperature before the rise is noted - this is the day of ovulation.

There is also a number of other, less reliable, methods for determining the time of release of the egg. So, the period of ovulation can be determined if you follow the changes in vaginal discharge, listen to all the painful sensations in the lower abdomen and even pay attention to your sexual desire, which in dangerous days should increase.
