Daryer's Disease: causes, symptoms, treatment

Most people are an exact copy of their parents. One gets blue eyes from the pope, the other - smart mom's hair. Of course, it happens the other way round. However, we all grow up to be the most interesting result of the intertwining of the genes of our close relatives. Very often, together with large eyes, curly hair and long legs, parents give their children a set of various diseases. They do it not on purpose, even without their own consent. Pathology may not manifest itself throughout life, but more often the situation is different. A person becomes a hostage of family ailments and ailments. One such "gift" is Darya's disease. What it is? Why does this pathology develop?

General information

Under Daria's disease is understood hereditary dermatosis, manifested by rashes in the form of nodules brown or brown. They have a conical shape and are covered with dense crusts. Nodules, localized on the folds of the body, merge into one another and form wet sores. Depending on the location of the rashes and their appearance, Darya's disease is divided into four forms:

• Localized. Characterized by the linear arrangement of the foci, which cover only limited areas of the body.
• Classical. Eruptions are mainly localized on the scalp, chest and behind the ears.
• Isolated. Together with standard nodules appear multi-faceted papules that look like warts. As a rule, they are on the back of the hands and feet.
• Vesicular and bullous. This form of the disease is very rare. It is characterized by numerous eruptions with a transparent secret. They appear on the side of the neck, in the area of ​​large skin folds.

Primary foci of papules are diagnosed in patients between the ages of eight and fifteen. Adults suffer infrequently.

Causes of the disease

The main cause of this disease is the presence of an abnormal gene, and the main risk factor is the inherited predisposition. As a result, vitamin A is not absorbed by the body fully, the activity of certain enzymes and the content of zinc in the epidermis is reduced. The consequence of these pathological processes is a violation of the mechanism of keratinization of the skin.

If mom or dad are carriers of an abnormal gene, in 50% of cases a child with a diagnosis of "Darya disease" appears on the light. However, if an absolutely healthy baby is born to sick parents, then this pathology will not bother his future children. The disease is not transmitted by airborne or by sexual route.

Clinical picture

The pathological process begins with the appearance of follicular planar nodules, which are otherwise called papules. Their size can vary from 1 to 3 mm. Papules are covered with a hard crust of brown color. Under it are depressions in the form of a funnel. Nodules are localized in the mouths of hair follicles, which sometimes leads to the development of another disease - folliculitis. Therefore, before the start of treatment, a differential diagnosis must be made.

Eruptions are located symmetrically, grasping the subclavian area and flexion surfaces of the joints. On the scalp, papules resemble warty plaques with scaly crusts. After their removal, lesions appear at the lesions. As the disease progresses, new rashes arise, and the old ones merge into a single spot.

Medical examination

Diagnosis of the disease is based on a clinical picture and a complete history of the patient. During the examination, the doctor examines the symptoms of the pathology, the previous cases of rashes among close relatives. To confirm the disease is assigned a histological analysis of the skin biopsy. Differential diagnosis is performed with familial pemphigus, papillomatosis and seborrheic dermatitis.

Principles of therapy

Treatment for this disease is usually performed on an outpatient basis. When the pathological process worsens or large areas of the lesion appear, the patient needs to be hospitalized in a dermatological hospital.

The patient is symptomatic. All patients without exception are prescribed vitamin A intake orally or in the form of intramuscular injections. Dosage of the drug is calculated individually, taking into account the age of the patient. The course of treatment is usually 3 months, then take a break and repeat the therapy.

Positive results in Darya disease give pearl baths in combination with applications of keratolytic ointment. In the presence of extensive lesions, surgical intervention or electrocoagulation is indicated. When Darya's disease is accompanied by the attachment of a bacterial infection, antibiotics are prescribed.

Prognosis and prevention of

This disease is transmitted exclusively by heredity. That is why, as a primary prevention specialists recommend a consultation with a geneticist to couples planning to conceive a child in the near future. This is especially true of future parents, who already had Darya's disease diagnosed in the family.

The treatment described above usually shows good results. Many patients manage to achieve a stable remission for several years. However, there is no need to expect complete recovery.
