Diet 5P: features and rules
The 5P diet is recommended for people with acute or chronic pancreatitis, but in an acute stage. There are two methods for this diet. The first of these is prescribed when the patient has acute pancreatitis, and is characterized by a strict restriction of the daily diet. The second option is more sparing, because it is prescribed for those who have chronic pancreatitis does not cause pain in the abdominal cavity. That is, the second method of dieting is prescribed in the period between bouts.
Diet 5P has such a scheme( first version)
The main task for which it is recommended that patients adhere to such a diet is the elimination of pain syndrome, the removal of functional and mechanical stress from the pancreas, and the need to narrow the entire digestive system.
As a rule, this diet is prescribed for acute pancreatitis or chronic( at the stage of exacerbation) if the manifestations of the disease are severe pain and other accompanying symptoms of the disease.
This diet for pankriotitis has such features:
- Food should be cooked or cooked only for a couple.
- Food should be selected in such a way that it contains a minimum amount of carbohydrates, because it is these substances that exert an increased load on the pancreas.
- All food can be eaten only in grated form.
- Duration of the diet is approximately 7 days. But you have to stick to it after two or three days that have passed since the last attack of pancreatitis. The fact is that for the first day the patient can not eat at all, because the food causes only bouts of nausea and vomiting.
Diet 5 P has the following chemical composition:
- fat should be approximately 40-50 g;
- carbohydrates - 200-240 g;
- the protein content should not exceed the mark of 80 g.
The patient, following this diet, should eat in fractions, but often. Food should enter the body every 2-3 hours. After pancreatitis ceases to manifest, you can start using the second version of this diet.
The 5P diet in its second version is used to functionally relieve the pancreas. Indication for its use: chronic pancreatitis( not in the acute stage) and acute( only after elimination of pain syndrome and other signs of an attack).
Fat, according to this form of diet, should be about 70-75 grams, carbohydrates - 350 g( but should limit the amount of digestible), and proteins - 150 g.
Food preparation is also done by steaming or by cooking. Serve the products in a grinded form, but their number and range becomes much wider.
So, you can eat bread, but only wheat and stale. Very useful for the body of wheat rusks, but puff pastry and rye bread is not recommended.
Meat can only be consumed lean, in particular, rabbit, beef, turkey and chicken. Before preparation, it should be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned. Forbidden fried meat and fatty in any of its manifestations.
Exactly from the same point of view, you need to approach the fish: only choose low-fat, and you can eat only after cooking. Braised fish doctors do not recommend. It is forbidden to eat smoked meat, pickles, canned food and caviar.
Diet 5P implies restriction in the use of eggs: you can eat protein omelets, however, yolks and fried eggs are forbidden.
From drinks it is allowed to drink loose tea with the addition of lemon, broth of dogrose, because it acts as a means of resting the pancreas. But carbonated drinks, alcohol in any quantity, cocoa and coffee should be excluded from the diet.
The main requirement in this diet is the restriction of fats. It is allowed to consume up to 30 g of butter, but do not treat it in any way.
