Ointment 'Fluorocort'

The main active ingredient, which includes "Ftorokort" ointment, is triamcinolone. This drug is used in the treatment of non-infectious dermatoses, as it has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, membrane-stabilizing and antipruritic effect.

The "Fluorocort" ointment indicates that after its application the active substance penetrates deeply into the skin and very quickly enters the blood. If the product is applied under the occlusive dressing or in cases of application to large areas, its penetration into the blood is even greater. Absorption of this ointment into the blood also increases in the elderly. For 4-5 hours, the drug half-lives through the kidneys in the form of a metabolite.

Ointment "Fluorocort": instruction for use

The drug is used in the treatment of many skin diseases, except for bacterial, viral and fungal lesions. It is effective to use this ointment in the presence of itching in the genital area, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, heurtyiform dermatitis of Dühring. The drug is also designed to treat red flat lichen, discoid lupus erythematosus, warty lichen, psoriasis, balanitis, pityriasis pink and ring-shaped granuloma.

Ointment "Fluorocort" is used in the treatment of urticaria, photosensitization, polymorphic exudative erythema, as well as to eliminate the effects of sunburn and insect bites.

How to use

Apply an ointment to the affected skin areas up to 3 times a day with a thin layer, do not rub it. For adult patients a day can not be applied more than 15 g of the drug. If an occlusive dressing is used, the dose is reduced to 10 grams. The duration of treatment is determined individually.

If the "Fluorocort" ointment is used in the treatment of children or the elderly, the course of treatment should not exceed 5 days and occlusive dressings are not used in these cases.

Possible side effects of

If the drug is used according to the recommendations in the instructions, then there are usually no side effects. But sometimes there may be pyoderma, hypertrichosis and erythema. If the medicine is applied to the affected area for a long time, skin atrophy may develop in the area where the ointment is used.

When applying this product to the bandage or to large areas, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system depression may occur, after which the synthesis of endogenous corticosteroids decreases, carbohydrate metabolism is disrupted, blood pressure changes. In this case, the formation of bone tissue, osteoporosis can be disturbed, the risk of bone fractures is significantly increased, and the growth of children is slowed. Contraindications to the use of ointment "Fluorocort"

This drug is not used in the presence of skin infection, with skin tuberculosis and perioral dermatitis. Also, it can not be used in malignant formations and precancerous skin diseases, as well as in the treatment of people who suffer from syphilis reflected on the skin.

In gerontological and pediatric practice, as well as for pregnant and lactating women, this drug should be used cautiously.

There have been no cases of an overdose of ointment "Fluorocort", but when combined, it enhances the effects of glucocorticosteroids.
