In children, demodectic eyelids can develop as a consequence of lung and gastrointestinal tract diseases in chronic form and with farsightedness.

Symptoms and course of

It is very easy to diagnose demodicosis of eyelids, it is enough visual inspection. Characteristic signs of the presence of the disease are the defeat of the eyelids: a characteristic coating is observed along their margin, the eyelashes are surrounded by muft-like crusts and at the same time stick together. In the anamnesis there is a loss of eyelashes and frequent barley, acne and psoriasis, which periodically recur. The eyelids are swollen with demodicosis, there is an unpleasant permanent itching and an unremitting fatigue of the eyes.

How to cure demodectic

Treatment is quite long and effective with all the measures of personal hygiene, as the possibility of repeated self-infection is high. The first stage of treatment of this unpleasant disease is cleansing the skin of eyelids and eyelashes with alcoholic tinctures of eucalyptus and calendula from all available crusts. This procedure is carried out twice with an interval of at least 15 minutes in the morning and evening before bedtime. After cleansing, the ointment "Demalon" should be applied to the edges of the eyelids. If other sites are affected, they must also be treated in the same way. Due to the fact that the products of the life of the ciliated mite are strong allergens, for the removal of allergic reactions apply the ointment "prenacid"( for one week grease the eyelids twice a day) or use drugs containing microdoses of corticosteroids( up to 8 times a day).When complicating demodicosis with purulent blepharitis or blepharoconjunctivitis, eye drops or Eubetal-antibiotic ointment or Colbiocin are used 4 times a day for 10 days. Simultaneously with drug treatment, to achieve a quick and lasting effect, it is recommended to perform physiotherapeutic procedures: a course of 10 procedures every other day or daily ozonotherapy, eyelid massage or magnetotherapy. In addition to local treatment of demodicosis, mandatory treatment of all existing concomitant diseases: chronic gastroduodenitis, pancreatitis and cholecystitis, intestinal dysbacteriosis, lung diseases and gastrointestinal tract. With refractive pathology, a correction is necessary, regardless of the age of the patient. In the absence of concomitant diseases, the normalization of metabolism in the body and the use of drugs to improve immunity are recommended.

Treatment of demodecosis with folk remedies:

- make compresses from garlic( ground mush);

- lotion from decals of elecampane 2 times a day;

- lotion from the ground bark of buckthorn;

- it is possible to apply various collections( plantain, tansy, mint, string, nettle) inside, make herbs and insist, then drink 2 months half a glass a day.

To prevent the recurrence of demodicosis, personal hygiene measures must be carefully followed. When washing, use products containing antibacterial components. All personal items in contact with the skin should be regularly treated with disinfectants. For the period of treatment and some time after recovery, it is necessary to abandon the use of cosmetics.
