Duodenitis: treatment, symptoms
The most common disease of the duodenum is duodenitis. In itself, it exists quite rarely, since it is often combined with enteritis, chronic gastritis, ulcer and other diseases. Duodenitis, the treatment of which should be performed in a timely manner, is more common in men than in women.
There is also a chronic form of this disease, which is accompanied by inflammation of the mucous membrane. At the heart of duodenitis are regenerative, dystrophic, and inflammatory changes that lead to atrophy of the duodenal mucosa.
Chronic duodenitis, whose treatment is considered a long process, can be of two kinds - limited and widespread. In the first case, a large papilla of the duodenum is affected - papillitis. In the second case duodenitis of the distal, proximal and other parts occurs. There is also a classification of duodenitis by the severity of the inflammation process itself - atrophic, interstitial, postural.
Causes of duodenitis
The most common among them are poisoning with toxic substances, food poisoning. Such causes have an irritating effect on the mucosa of the digestive tract. Also frequent reasons for the development of duodenitis is the use of large quantities of alcoholic beverages and spicy foods.
Symptoms of
Pain occurring after eating for several hours. Pain sensations in this case develop gradually and, more often, concentrate in the right abdominal area. In addition to pain, there is also heartburn after eating. Quite often there is nausea, which can occur after eating, and "on an empty stomach."There is a violation of appetite, which may be absent or have a pronounced character. Duodenitis of the stomach is accompanied by frequent headaches, dizziness, irritability and weakness. Against the background of such symptoms may appear drowsiness, increased sweating, which occur several hours after eating.
Prevention of duodenitis
The main method of prevention is regular nutrition, without the use of alcoholic beverages. Also timely treatment of various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, on the basis of which the disease arises.
Duodenitis: treatment of
It is necessary to start with a dietary supplement, which the doctor must appoint individually. It should be remembered that the food should be chewed carefully, because even for a healthy person, poorly chewed food can cause pain in the stomach.
If we talk about drug treatment, it is aimed at removing inflammation and improving the regeneration of cells of the duodenum. Such drugs can improve digestion, as well as the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. If necessary, the doctor also prescribes anti-parasitic drugs. But nevertheless, medicamental treatment should pass under the control of the gastroenterologist.
Duodenitis: treatment with folk remedies
There are also many folk remedies besides medication. A large number of recipes, based on herbal preparations, will help to quickly and effectively remove inflammation and cure duodenitis of any complexity. I would like to introduce a few of them.
- Pour two tablespoons of St. John's worts into a glass of boiling water and put on a water bath for half an hour. Then we insist 15 minutes and filter. This means take for half an hour each time before eating, on the third part of the glass.
- Mix three tablespoons of freshly squeezed plantain juice with a teaspoon of honey. Eat three tables a day in a spoonful of a dining room.
