It should be noted that all listed SAWs are of only natural origin. They are obtained by processing fruits, pits and fruits. The substance is sorbitol, which has a slightly sweet flavor.

Later, the oils are added to the sorbitol. The type of oil depends on which polysorbate will be prepared. For example, when making TWEEN 20 and TWEEN 40 use only coconut oil, TWEEN 60 - palm, TWEEN 80 - olive. Thanks to the use of natural ingredients and oils, these surfactants are very useful for the face skin, and due to the fact that sorbitol has a oil-dissolving property, creams and cosmetics based on Tween are perfectly absorbed into the skin.

How the polysorbate number affects its properties

All listed polysorbates, including polysorbate TWEEN 80, perfectly dissolve in ethyl alcohol, but it is not used in the manufacture of cosmetics. Also they perfectly interact with any vegetable oils. Mineral oils and other products of oil distillation do not interact with surfactants in any way, therefore they are not suitable for joint use.

Polysorbate number affects where it will be applied. For example, polysorbate 20 is typically used for the preparation of essential oils.

Polysorbate 80 has several other properties. At cosmetologists it is especially popular because of the ability to create a moderate foam. However, the higher the polysorbate number, the more foam it is able to form.

If, however, a product with a higher concentration was used in the manufacture of cosmetics, then the milk or shampoo will be much thicker. This should be considered for ease of use.

If it is necessary to dissolve essential oils, one part of polysorbate and 0.5 part of oil is used. Sometimes it is possible to increase part of the oil to one unit.
